Alright, since I last updated my journal, I had a lot of things going on and felt very overwhelmed. Since that last time however, I have had a great deal more happen. Some good, some bad. However, unlike last time, I wont go too much into the bad because some of that is super personal and would rather keep that to myself, I hope you all understand.


Now to start off, I know I have not been active submission wise AT ALL and I apologize so very much for that!   But I have been SUPER SUPER SUPER active on Instagram and sadly I just forget that I have a gallery that needs to be polished. And by polished, I mean TAKE OUT ALL MY OLD ARTWORK, SEND IT TO SCRAP, AND UPLOAD ALL THAT I HAVE WORKED ON RECENTLY. I guess you could call it starting over but also not starting over. I would really enjoy getting the opportunity to show you all how much I have improved in art and illustration overall! I am very proud with how far I have come because now I add in MUCH more detail and even - *gasp* BACKGROUNDS!!!     I have discovered a LOVE for creating an environment for my characters!


Secondly (this is one of the biggest bad things I will bring up), I have decided to, after a long series of going back and forth between yes and no, unfortunately stop working on DragonLords completely. After working on it since high school and taking it through to M|I|C\A, I felt as if the concept wasn't really going anywhere and now matter what I did to spice it up, it felt too far fetched. Also, I had begin to notice that my ideas were unfortunately being used without my permission. And by ideas, I mean plot, characters, story, world, mythology, backstories ...everything and I mean EVERYTHING. I felt kind of torn and decided to not start any trouble and work on something completely different!

I was hanging out with one of my friends and we were talking about various anime and manga. Apparently I had a lot of random female characters floating around, but no male characters. My friend Rainy looked at me and said "you should design a MALE character! I bet he would look pretty cool!" I then grabbed a small sketchbook and drew the very first Lykos headshot. Then later that night, I woke up from the most amazing dream that what if he was a character in an ANIME or MANGA series?! I then woke up IMMEDIATELY and began to draw an entire slew of characters and fleshed out the world that Lykos and his siblings live in. Then I went through an older sketchbook from my time at Community College and found my old concept sheets from Blue Phoenix and decided to revamp little Indigo (some of you might remember her from a couple of Illustrations but if you don't that's totally okay), but changed nearly EVERYTHING about her and her story. Thus, Avathae was born!!! I have come SOO far since starting this massive project and it has received SO much positive feedback on Intagram and one of my followers even wants to make FANART OF MY MANGA       :bademoticon:   !! I am just SUPER PROUD of how far this project has come and I am almost finished writing the FIRST BOOK!
